Singapore, 25 May 2017 – Caregiver USA Corporation, a subsidiary of Singapore startup Caregiver Asia Pte Ltd, has achieved CMS accreditation. This means that US residents will be eligible for Medicare reimbursement when they receive a home care service through CaregiverUSA’s care hub, making claims possible through this accreditation. CMS is part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Caregiver USA encompasses a healthcare agency and its proprietary online caregiver matching platform.
CaregiverUSA has applied an innovative approach to home health care through the use of an online scheduling system that is backed by a CMS-approved care hub in Ohio. CaregiverUSA’s model supports affordable care because of the CMS certification, thereby making it different from current pay-out-of-pocket models.
The CMS certification is in addition to CaregiverUSA already being HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliant which provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.
CaregiverUSA aims to transform the way that care is delivered today by motivating, empowering and mobilizing people and communities to care about people around them. The 24×7 online platform connects people with trusted caregivers anytime, anywhere. CaregiverUSA’s caregivers have extensive background checks completed successfully and documented and in addition, CaregiverUSA is licensed and insured.
CaregiverUSA provides:
- licensed nurses and therapists who can work on their own times and on their own terms,
- appointment scheduling so that CaregiverUSA’s caregivers go to its clients’ homes at their preferred and convenient times,
- the convenience so that CaregiverUSA clients and their loved ones can plan and schedule service times by telephone or using the online tool on the website.
Said Yeo Wan Ling, Chief Executive Officer of CaregiverAsia, “We are very pleased and excited by receiving the CMS accreditation. CaregiverUSA’s model supports affordable care through the CMS certification. Increased life expectancy is giving rise to increasing incidence of chronic diseases. The potential for home care services in the US is growing. Some 90 percent of 60 or older people would prefer to stay in their home over living in an institution . Medicare and Medicaid continue to expand coverage for the elderly and low income people. Our online 24×7 platform connects people with trusted caregivers anytime, anywhere”
