CaregiverAsia Launches New Triage and Care Service – CaregiverPlus

Singapore, 19 April 2018 – Caregiver Asia Pte Ltd, an online aggregator of trusted on-demand health and caregiving services, today announced the launch of Caregiver Plus Pte Ltd. CaregiverPlus will provide comprehensive and personalised triage and care management services that will address the complex care and healthcare needs of patients. In addition, all Caregivers, with the exception of doctors, signed up with CaregiverAsia as employees or freelancers, will be covered by insurance which covers amongst others medical malpractice, professional indemnity, loss of documents and breach of professional confidentiality.

The key differentiator of CaregiverPlus from CaregiverAsia’s platform, www.caregiverasia.com, is that services ordered on the platform are based on self-management and self-service. CaregiverPlus, on the other hand, provides suitable care options to those who are either unfamiliar of the care options available or need professionals to recommend a course of care for their loves ones. CaregiverPlus’ care management and triage offerings are service extensions of the online platform which deepen CaregiverAsia’s service offerings as a home care and health care aggregator.

People who need triage include, amongst others, families who face medical emergencies, patients who have just been discharged from hospitals, careseekers on subvention referred by Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and families facing complicated medical situations.

CaregiverPlus is formed as a Social Enterprise, where in addition to creating a sustainable business structure for all stakeholders, the service’s focus is also on promoting and supporting aging in place. Through working with both in-house and an augmented pool of specially trained freelance Caregivers, the service aims to transform the way care is delivered to homes, by providing on-demand and high-quality care.

CaregiverPlus starts from a systematic and holistic assessment of the Careseeker’s different health and wellness needs. The assessment covers the physical, medical, social, emotional aspects of a Careseeker that is required to maintain the best quality of life. The assessment will only be conducted by Senior Nursing Professionals who are specifically trained for the CaregiverPlus service which is developed in-house to deliver the best possible care and service standards. After the assessment, the Senior Nursing Professional will develop a care management plan that will cover one or more of the following services:

  • Nursing Care (Long Term Care)
  • Nursing Procedures (Ad-Hoc)
  • Medical Services
  • Allied Health Services
  • Counselling Services
  • Caregiver Training (Home Based)
  • Dementia Care

The care services will come with reports for the family and/or client so that they are updated on the care rendered and the progress of their health. Apart from the above listed services, the CaregiverPlus service will also assist in arranging the following services to help manage the client’s other needs:

  • Cleaning Services
  • Babysitting Services
  • Nanny Services
  • Wellness Services
  • Support Groups for Caregivers

Ms Yeo Wan Ling, CEO of CaregiverAsia said, “I am pleased to introduce CaregiverPlus. In the course of our work, we have been increasingly getting requests from Careseekers who want to leave the care management to our expert advice.  When we first started CaregiverAsia, the intention was to build an online aggregator of health and caregiving services based on convenience, transparency and trust.  Now that we are one of the largest in this space, we have the expertise and the numbers to start this programme, and deepen our service offerings to a larger group of Careseekers.  This customised care management programme will provide relief to those who know that their needs are being well taken care of and in a holistic manner.”

Allium Healthcare and CaregiverAsia Launch Inaugural Community Nursing for Older Adults Workshop

Singapore, 8 February 2018 – Caregiver Asia Pte Ltd, an online aggregator of trusted on-demand health and caregiving services, and Allium Healthcare Holdings Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned member of the GK Goh Holdings Group (“GK Goh”), today announced the launch of the inaugural Community Nursing for Older Adults Workshop. Participants will be awarded four Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points.

The movement of care from acute hospitals to the community is a national priority in Singapore. Furthermore, rising client needs, and ageing population and workforce are some of the drivers for change. Demand for care to be delivered closer to client’s home are putting more pressure on nurses to deliver safe, timely and quality care. Nurses are essential in the delivery of continuous care as they often serve as an interface between acute and community settings, focusing on prevention, self-management and providing support to transit clients smoothly across the health and social care services.

Dr Lina Ma, Group Vice President (Clinical/Aged Care), Allium Healthcare said, “The workshop is a basic introduction to community nursing. The interactive teaching materials in this workshop invites the participants to explore the complexities of nursing in the community; the function of primary healthcare; and to develop a profile of the community in which their clients live and work. Moreover, the knowledge the participants’ gain will enable them to develop an understanding of the needs and concerns of the older adults living in the community and those who care for them”.

Ms Yeo Wan Ling, CEO of CaregiverAsia said, “We believe that aging in place – living with purpose and dignity, is a choice that everyone needs to have when they grow older. Being able to access qualified, experienced Caregivers would be a necessary first step in making that choice. This workshop, a component of our Caregiver Support Services (CSS), will prepare and equip nurses to play a key role in delivering positive care outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for those older adults with co-morbidities that need complex care interventions”.

CaregiverAsia Introduces a New Dynamic Real Time Calendar Booking System for Its Online Booking Platform

Singapore, 26 July 2017 – Caregiver Asia Pte Ltd, a specialist in providing trusted on-demand care services, today announced it has launched a new, improved and dynamic calendar system. This new proprietary availability management system allows Caregivers to manage and consolidate their availability for all their services in one place. Visually, it looks and works like Google Calendar where one can drag and select the time period of the services offered and available.

The new system will enable Caregivers to manage their time more efficiently as CaregiverAsia’s new scheduling system takes into account rest, packing up and preparation time between bookings. Dynamic booking lengths will be made possible and this means that services can be booked for durations within Caregivers’ specified time range (minutes, hours, days, weeks and months). For Careseekers, the improved UX will make it intuitively easy to book services online themselves.

Previous feedback on the calendar system, was that while it was a novel concept, it was quite tedious to use as a Caregiver who may provide multiple types of services, would have to create different calendars for each of the services provided. With the new system, Caregivers can manage their services schedules real time, on one calendar, and future service schedules can be cloned for up to three months.

Yeo Wan Ling, CEO of CaregiverAsia said, “We are excited to introduce new improvements to our easy-to-use and transparent platform. The new calendar system is a result of direct feedback from our Caregivers and Careseekers. This is our third major facelift in two years, and is part of our continued service promise to bring convenience and transparency to the Caregiving process. With this enhancement, we hope that more Caregivers would continue to entrust their caregiving service hours to us; and for Careseekers, a more convenient, intuitive and carefree experience when booking care services online.”
